Being a Nokia E series device It is all about supporting the business community.E 75’s primary focus is on email. When you do lot of business communication via E 75 ,you need to type a lot. Let us see how the QWERTY keyboard of the Nokia E 75 perform
The keys of the e 75’s QWERTY key board is flat ,feeling the keys while typing is hard .you have to keep your eye on the key board carefully.But I would say N97’s keys are nicely designed to get the feel (because fo the dimension )
It took some time to learn the E75 keyboard ,but it is easy to learn.
The Ctrl Key(Control Key ) is there to perform functions with the combination of other keys (ctrl+c – copy the selected text,Ctl+V- paste the text,Ctrl+A- Selects all the text you typed in a text editor etc..)Ctrl key is missiong part in N97. The ctrl key is available in other E series phones like E71,E72 too.
There are two shift keys in the both sides like computer key boards. Long press of the Shift key shows an option “Paste” in the top of the screen and let you paste by pressing the neighbouring key.Same feature is available in N97 but left with 1 Shift key.
Long press of the keys offer the second character in E75 like N97 with firmware V20.00.
The placement of the keys on n97 helps to type faster than e 75 .I hope Nokia designed the latest keyboard(n97s) after the study and feed backs from devices like e75 and other presidents .
Chr key is there in E75 for symbols while Sym Key is in N97 for same purpose. This key pop ups the list of symbols ,so you can choose.
The key to get numbers placed in the left most corner in e75,but it is placed in right most corner of n97 that gives convenience in typing.
The Dpad is the only one disturbance some times you may feel in n97(you may press it accidentally while you type faster,and the cursor may move to wrong place)but the Navigation key is in the top of the phone (on the slide )in E75 so that will not happen to you ,but moving around typing area requires little bit more effort.
The space bar of the e 75 should have some sort of grip ,other than being flat .You require more pressure on the space bar. the technology I compare with e75 is more latest and have it’s advantage by time also.
Nokia E 75 keyboard has four rows of keys while N97 has 3 rows . The 4 row design makes to use function keys more easier.
The back light of the keyboard is not sufficient to use in low light conditions(I type this review during a power cut ,and using e75).The alphabet keys are identical but the number and special character keys are no identical and need special attention to identify in low light.
Typing your messages is extremely easy with E 75 . but it is an overall average qwerty key board if you compare with a bmw series device like n97.
