Nokia Point & Find Awarded for Mobile Marketing Innovation

From Nokia Blog:

We’ve been busy at Nokia Point & Find since we last posted. We’ve been planning for a big upcoming project, won an award, and selected the winner of the X6 for our latest BetaLabs Survey.

First we received the runner-up position in the Mobile Merrit Awards for Innovative Marketing.  The award is given to companies who have demonstrated a unique way of using mobile technology for marketing.

Our entry centered on our execution of interactive bus shelter ads in the city of Colchester, UK. When passers-by pointed their phone at these bus shelter ads, links to the advertiser’s website would appear on the phone. This allowed P&F users to get more information about the advertiser without having to type in a long URL. Users could also point at these advertisements for phone numbers, locations, and special offers.

We’re happy and humbled to have won this award. We rank with other great winners. Check out all of the winners at the Mobile Merit Awards site.
On another note, congratulations to BetaLabs survey respondant Charlie Tonkiss, the winner of a brand new X6! Thanks again to everyone who responded to our survey. Hearing your feedback on P&F helps us work to improve the service in upcoming releases.

Speaking of feedback, our community is very important to us. Last month, we hit 10,000 “likes” on our Facebook page where the P&F community leaves us feedback daily. Like us on Facebook for ongoing contests and information about P&F.
